Pješčana uvala is a modern settlement, established only thirty years ago. It was discovered by bathers who became captivated by the natural sandy beach which dominates the area between two peninsulas, hence the name of the town. Pješčana uvala has 350 residents, and it's characterized by modern architecture to suit man's needs. A long path winds below the town along the beach, dotted with numerous restaurants, taverns, stores and pastry shops.The town is given its picturesqueness by the marina, where yachts are available for rent.
Banjole, a fishing village with a naturally protected port, was established in Roman times, and today has 700 residents. The settlement is located on a small peninsula where all lovers of the sea, sailing and fishing dream of living. Nature has endowed this region with many small coves and peninsulas, as well as natural beaches, and people added such features as tennis courts, hiking and bicycle paths, motor and sailboat rentals and other water sports.
Premantura is a picturesque town with 450 residents, located in Istria's far south, which was already settled during the Bronze Age.
The remains of rustic villas are evidence of the ancient Romans' wise choice of Premantura as an ideal setting. A beautiful statue of Minerva was also found here, today kept in the Archaeological Museum in Pula. The long, narrow peninsula of Kamenjak gives Premantura its most recognizable characteristic. This peninsula is 9.5 km long and as wide as 1.5 km, and stretches into the Adriatic Sea like a long arm. Kamenjak is encompassed by a 30 km coastline dotted with numerous coves and miniature beaches, and this primeval beauty is enriched with small islands which rise from the crystalline blue-green sea.The restaurants have made Premantura famous as a place of rich tables set with fish and other seafood specialities.
Medulin, ancient Mutila, is a town with 1,700 residents and a long, richly indented coastline which is encircled by a ring of small islands. The pillar of tourism in Medulin is sports: tennis, football, mini golf, bowling, boccie, beach volleyball, horse-back riding. There are schools for windsurfing, diving, sailing, horse-back riding and water skiing. There are also rental services for motor boats, canoes, pedaloes, watercraft, bicycles and motorcycles. Young people know Medulin for its popular night clubs, while those who like live music and all dance rhythms gather at the numerous terraces.
Medulin is also known for its quality classical music concerts during the summer months, while its approximately forty restaurants are a real challenge to gourmets, whether it's modern, traditional, seafood, meat or vegetarian cuisine.
Brijuni, a group of islands and a national park (since 1983) in front of the western coast of Istria; separated from the mainland by the Fazana Strait; located 6 km from Pula; area 36 sq km. Due to its favourable geographical location and low terrain, Brijuni Islands are known for their mild climate; winters are mild with an average temperature of 5.8 °C, summers being relatively warm with an average temperature of 22.8 °C. The vegetation of the islands is extremely rich - Mediterranean: holm oak, laurel, pine, olive, rosemary and underbrush.
